ECO-CITIZEN ACTS FOR A SUSTAINABLE DAILY LIFE!

"We all have our role to play. It is through the accumulation of modest acts carried out on our scale and reproduced here and there that we will succeed in changing things profoundly", Yann Arthus-Bertrand. https://www.goodplanet.org/fr/agir-a-nos-cotes/ecogestes/

1. USE A SHOPPING BAG (PLASTIC IS NOT CHIC!)

Every year in France, 5 million tons of household packaging are put on the market. It is up to you as consumers to be careful. For example, you can bring back and reuse your refillable packaging every time you go to the store.

2. CHOOSE SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING

Second lung of the Earth, the forest is essential to our well-being but also to the balance of our ecosystems. However, on average, 13 million hectares of forest disappear every year. You can act as a consumer by choosing packaging from sustainably managed forests. Thanks to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) label, you will be assured of having sustainable packaging.

3.CONSUME LOCAL AND SEASONAL PRODUCTS, IT'S BETTER AND IT'S GOOD!

Eating local and seasonal products is both good for our environment and our health. For example, a tomato produced locally, but out of season (i.e. in a greenhouse), generates 20 times more greenhouse gases than a local tomato produced at the right time of the year! Our calendar of fruits and vegetables in season will help you find your way!
You can also find our delicious recipes made by renowned chefs and lovers of French gastronomy!

4.CONSUME FISH FROM SUSTAINABLE FISHING

You too can become a consumer by choosing products from sustainable fishing. Download the Planet Ocean app for free to learn about consumer tips, delicious recipes and, above all, to find out which species are managed sustainably.

5.SORT, REUSE AND COMPOST YOUR WASTE

To better preserve the environment, give priority to sorting our packaging. According to a study by the CDC Climat Research, the 3.2 million tons of packaging recycled in 2013 prevented the emission of 2.1 million tons of greenhouse gases. Similarly, "nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed!" as the philosopher Antoine Lavoisier explained. Coffee grounds, for example, will revive your plants! Finally, some food waste can be recycled through composting. It's simple and good for the environment. You just have to collect your waste in a specific garbage can (a biobin) and then throw it in a biobin - initiatives also exist for buildings - then let nature do its work! It is an excellent natural fertilizer!

Thanks to these few gestures, you can contribute to the protection of the planet and raise awareness of your entourage!
